    Could this be the ghost?

    By PK | September 30, 2008

This past Saturday and Sunday were the last two days of elk hunting with a bow in Colorado. Dalton and I decided on Saturday to a return trip through the eerie valley where I seen the shadow and heard footsteps of someone behind me. If you’re not familiar with the full story, read here. I wasn’t too happy about going through that valley again even though I didn’t feel anything aggressive about the supposed ghost.

I was apprehensive as we approached the ridge that descends down into the valley. I’ve never tried to photograph a ghost, but knew with today’s technology of digital cameras, it was possible. My camera is always hanging around my neck, protected with it’s lens and then a camouflage cover.

It was a bright, sunny day and I didn’t know if it was even possible to photograph anything. At best I was hoping for an orb, which I’ve heard several people photographing proclaiming it was a ghost. All I can do is relate to you my experience and YOU decide.

At the top of the ridge Dalton, Gerry, and I stopped for a brief rest before descending down into the valley. I didn’t tell them of my intent to try and photograph this previous entity I had encountered on our last trip. With previous encounters of seeing or feeling ghosts, I always cleared my mind. I had difficulty doing so this go-around. My mind was occupied thinking about photographing, the elk hunt since this was the last weekend, and other various thougths that kept me from concentrating. Dalton looked at me knowing that I would be ‘putting out feelers’. But I couldn’t feel anything. I let the guys get ahead of me.

Was I trying too hard? (my thoughts)

I took a deep breath, again trying to clear my mind. It just wouldn’t happen.

    Are you here?

I started taking photographs. I had no idea where I actually felt his presence the first time and where he would be this time, if at all.

This picture is the first one…nothing unusual, my camera operating perfectly. I was photographing the area around me.

Would you like to join us on an elk hunt?

This is the picture in question as you can see a faint ghostly appearance right before me, enlarge pic for full detail. It is the picture taken right after I offered the invitation.

After taking this picture I immediately felt a feeling that someone didn’t want their picture taken. Could it just be my thoughts, I asked myself. Just in case, I’ll offer reassurance.

    It’s okay.

I took more than 25 more pictures as I came down into the valley. I didn’t speak (to the ghost), didn’t feel anything, nor did any of the pictures show anything unusual or any flaws to the pictures.

Gerry wanted me to take some pictures of them near some Aspens that had turned golden from the fall change after descending completely into the valley, but before we crossed the creek.

“Okay, stand over there and I’ll take your picture.” I said to them.

Clearly in this picture, you can see an orb. I took two of these pictures, and both of them have the same defect in them. Of all the pictures I took, these three are the only ones with something unusual in them.

When I photograph during an outting, I never review my pictures and do not use the LCD screen for taking pictures, but photograph through the view finder. I try to save my batteries as much as possible for the entire trip. So I had no idea until I arrived home late that night that I captured anything. I assure you these photos are untouched except to scale down so I could upload them.

    You make the choice.

Is it the ghost? Did he accept the second invitation to having his picture taken also?

Gerry informed me that he receives the best cell coverage on that ridge. Could it be from a source of energy that also provided the ghost with the ability to show himself in form? And at the bottom of the ridge, where the guys stood for the last picture in this valley, could only show himself as an orb due to the lack of that energy?

Lots of questions, and no answers. Everyone here is entitled to their own opinion of these pictures, whether you believe or not. I know my camera and have taken thousands of pictures. I know a drop of water on your lens can reveil an orb-like image onto your photographs. But on this day, water nor rain was an option. It was a bright, sunny, dry day. I keep my camera lens on the camera at all times and then covered with a camo cover for hunting.

    You decide….

Only you know the truth. There are too many sceptics out there who poobar stories like this. However, a fascinating enigma with those three pictures and the tael behind them.

That is true. Many would believe I fudged the pictures, although I didn’t. Perhaps they are just sun spots or something else? Who knows for sure? I just know all the other pics I took were perfect without any type of flaws.
