    Elk Hunting Tree Dance

    While Elk Hunting, some hunters perform the ‘Tree Dance’. What’s a tree dance you ask? Not really a dance at all, but the noise will bring elk in from within hearing distance. It emulates the sound of bulls fighting during their rut season. Dalton also uses branches in this video to copy a bull elk rubbing his antlers against a tree.       Sly tactics which must have worked over the years.

      Indeed, it does work. After researching about the mountain pine beetles, I’m wondering if that’s why we aren’t seeing many elk in Grand County. I hope this isn’t a prelude to future hunting. Colorado is a popular state for big game hunting.
