Saturday Drive turns into Cattle Drive in Colorado

    By PK | October 26, 2008

A perfect day for a drive, slightly cool, but sunny and clear, blue skies as Dalton and I headed north on Elk River Road, Hwy 129, to reach our destination of Hahn’s Peak, an old gold mining town. It took a little longer as the road was blocked off ahead of us by a cattle trailer preparing the way for a cattle drive to another pasture.

A real cattle drive and real cowboys as they move their cattle.

If this bull got any closer, we could have had horns for the front of our truck, mighty nice ones, too.

They surrounded us, moseying along towards their journey, as the traffic behind us increased.

A cowboy’s job is never done, their days long, their work hard as they endure many hardships.

And finally the cattle reach their destination…

Perfect like you say, comwboy country, not too disimlar from Bulgarian cowboy countyr scenery. We have more sheep and goats than cattle though.

Cool! And to think, since you haven’t gotten your Elk horns yet, a set of those Longhorns would look pretty nice too!
Penn.??? I know that is where you family is, that would make it nice. And I’m guessing, the winters would be similar?? Not the same vast spaces to wander through…Keep me posted and my thoughts are with you and Dalton too, in this messy economy we are all flounering in.
