    Hobbies

Thanks for coming to my Hobbies page. I have a vast array of hobbies. This area will continue to grow as I add more of them. It just takes time.

I also sell some of my work, but currently am not set up on paypal. You can contact me through my email - pkb@bloggingus.com for additional information.

    Thanks, PK

    Crocheting

One of my favorite hobbies is crocheting, which I have been doing since 1971. It all started with a baby afghan for my hope chest. Today, I crochet afghans, baby afghans, sweaters, scarfs, mittens, booties, purses, and lots of doilies.

Crocheting is relaxing and helps develop creativity. Learn to crochet or teach a child to crochet.

    PK

I personally guarantee all my work with a 30-day money back

guarantee. I crocheted this Granny-Square Afghan in 1980,

and have used it daily on the back of the couch, to snuggle

up with on chilly days, and on top of my bed for added

warmth during the night. Not to mention, all the times

I’ve washed and dried it on regular cycles.

It is still in ‘like new’ condition.

I take pride in my work and strive for perfection

    in all my crafts.

    Thanks, PK

    Some new articles I did…

I have a new granddaughter about to be born any day now and wanted to make her something special. My daughter-in-law picked out this design and I crocheted it for her.

A darling, pink dress complete with bonnet.

She also wanted a baby sweater, tam, and booties.

And to complete the outfits, I made a ripple baby afghan for her with pink satin bows on the corners.

    Sewing

I also love to sew and have been sewing for 38 years. I started at a very young age, then took home economics class when I was 14, which helped immensely. At the age of 18, I was sewing in the factories as a fancy stitcher.

I made these dresses for four of my granddaughters, Micayla, Magan, Macie, and Matalin. Matalin was a 25 week preemie. I used a doll pattern to make this dress for her for when she got out of the hospital. It took over four months before my son and daughter-in-law could bring her home.

At Easter, I created this divine dress for the twins, Magan and Macie.

It consisted of lilac satin, with the floral sheer overlay, fully lined with tulle to fluff the skirt and matching lilac satin jacket and sash. I also created a headband since the girl’s weren’t quite a year old.

Magan modeling her dress. I’ll never forget how excited she was. I never seen a baby girl get so excited. The dress rustled with all the layers and her legs never quit moving as she listened to the sound it made. How adoreable!!!

Micayla and her Easter dress, similar to her twin sister’s, but with a different floral, sheer overlay. I made her a matching bow of the floral, sheer overlay for her hair. And yes, the curls are natural!

Sundresses are fun and easy, as this wrap design for babies. Bloomers with lace are a bonus for a cute, sweet accompliment. This one is fully lined made from 100% cotton.

A big girl dress for Micayla, also fully lined and easy to make

Who can resist monogrammed matching outfits for twins? These adorable wrap-around sundresses are irresistible with their monogrammed heart applique and the yellow and white daisies on a red background trimmed with red rick-rack.

For Micayla, I made a short top, monogrammed with her name, trimmed with rick-rack with a pair of skorts. You can just see the edge of hers on the right.

For winter, try these cute, fleece helmet-style caps for little ones. They’re lined, mine with another layer of fleece for added warmth.

    A horse one for Micayla

Cats and dogs for the twins…

and Dora the Explorer for Mattie.

I wanted the girls to have their each individual ‘look’ to help identify their own cap, also a request from their parents.

    My current projects in progress:

    1. A prayer shawl, a long warm beige shawl that will compliment many different outfits for Dalton’s mother. (Done…pic soon)

    2. A Christmas dress for another granddaughter, Ava. It’s hunter green satin with puff, short sleeves as she lives in Georgia, fully lined with a tulle ruffle underneath for flounce, and a simple, lacy thin sash that will tie in the back.

    3. Filet crocheted surnames, matted and framed for Dalton’s sons. ( My sons received theirs last year) (Done, pics soon)

    4. A filet crocheted elk (very large), framed for Dalton.

    5. A crocheted purse for me, I just have to line it.

    6. Hat and neck warmer for me. I’ve finished the hat, just need to complete the neck warmer. I’d better hurry, it’ll soon be snowing here!
