A Drive Thru The County
By PK | July 5, 2008
Saturday evening we decided we’d had enough of the city life of Steamboat and headed for a long country drive on Routt County’s dirt roads. Armed with printed maps of the area we wanted to explore, we headed on our way. Sometimes when we take drives, we don’t see any wildlife at all. This time proved more productive, though some elk were just too far away for us to photograph. They do like their privacy.
This is one of the best mule deer photos I’ve ever taken. This young buck just thought it was his day to get his picture taken.
These three young antelope bucks didn’t seem to mind us as I snapped these pictures of them.
The antelope doe wasn’t as friendly…
And it’s not every day to get to take a picture of a badger sticking his head out of his home.
