    My Kansas Fishing Trip

    By PK | June 10, 2008

I was excited that morning, anticipating catching a mess of bass for my skillet. We went up to Milford Reservior and fished near the dam. There were quite a few others fishing, but no one was catching anything. We needed a better spot. Being a visitor to the area, holding an expensive out-of-state license, it meant I didn’t know the best places to fish and wanted to recoup some of the money I spent on a license.

We finally settled on a pier near a small lake away from the dam. What made up my mind was the huge bass a young man was carrying as he was leaving. It was the biggest bass I’d ever seen. Now being from Memphis, I’d caught some pretty large catfish. But everyone knows you don’t keep anything you catch in the Mississippi….I mean they find dead bodies in there.

So, we started fishing off this pier….lunch came and went…..hell, supper came and went….

and still I fished…determined to catch something!

    Yep….still fishing!

Okay…I cried ‘uncle’. I’m reeling in!

Until next time…but not in Kansas
